Individual Care

Individual
Care

The initial clinical consultation is the first step in finding a solution to your problems.

After an interview, an individually tailored clinical assessment can then look at your posture, movements, nerve function and other physical systems to try to find the root causes of your condition.

The aim is to give you a prioritised list of options for managing your condition, some of which involve treatment modalities, and some of which involve active engagement in exercises or other lifestyle changes.

If at any stage I do not think I am the right person to help you, I will let you know which specialists or investigations I recommend.

Clarify Your Personal Goals

Together, we can clarify your personal goals and work out what your treatment and rehabilitation needs might be. Of course, there are no guarantees in clinical work, but I do promise to do my best to try to understand you and your goals, and to advise you the way I would advise my own family.

I gained extensive experience in general musculoskeletal problems including Orthopaedics, sports injuries and arthritic conditions, and especially spinal conditions, over many years in the NHS. Because of my frustration in working out why two people with the same diagnosis could have such different presentations, problems and responses to treatment, I have explored and combined multiple methods into a systematic approach based on the physiology and function of an individual patient rather than a diagnostic label.

My aim is to make you more robust and resilient, to help you overcome whatever symptoms or dysfunctions are troubling you, and to work with you to devise strategies to stop them coming back.

To do this, I combine techniques and strategies from:

Physiotherapy & Chiropractic
Over 30 years of clinical experience
Proprioceptive Medicine / Afferent Input (including skin taping)
Postural Neurology & Postural Ergonomics
Pain Neutralisation Techniques / Kaufman Approach

I specialise in a conservative approach to headaches and spinal pains.

Even if other approaches have failed, or you've been told there is nothing more to be done and that you should "put up with it," there may be ways to look at you as an individual (rather than as a condition/diagnosis) to alleviate your suffering.

Neck pain & cervicogenic headache/migraine, back pain & sciatica, shoulder complaints, joint pains & arthritic pain, muscles spasms or cramp, minor sports injuries, neuralgia & generalised aches & pains

Clinic hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays 10am - 6pm
